We’re excited to share a major milestone—the 2024 Custom Build in Colville is officially complete. With the Certificate of Occupancy in hand and keys in their pocket, the Butterfield family has moved into their beautiful, thoughtfully crafted home.
This project began with a strong foundation—clear vision and plans drawn up by Rosemary Shaw of R&R Designs. The homeowners came to us with Rosemary’s design in hand, ready to turn their vision into reality. From that moment forward, the Wethered Timberworks team took the lead, building each detail with care, quality, and craftsmanship.

A Natural Welcome – Light, Wood, and Stone
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by soaring pine ceilings, natural light streaming through full-height windows, and panoramic views of the Colville landscape.
At the center of the great room is a dramatic floor-to-ceiling faux stone fireplace, built with Evolve Stone®—a mortarless stone veneer that combines the realistic look of natural stone with modern convenience.
Installed with a standard finish nailer (yes—nailed it!), this innovative product delivers a beautiful finish without the mess or weight of traditional stone. It’s lightweight, color-throughout, and durable enough to serve as a stunning focal point for years to come.

Built for Gathering – Kitchen, Comfort, and Flow
The kitchen in this home is both functional and inviting, featuring custom hickory cabinets, granite countertops, and a full backsplash that pulls everything together. A large center island anchors the space, connecting seamlessly to the open living and dining areas—a perfect layout for both entertaining and everyday life.

One Shower, Two Ways to Unwind
The master suite offers a peaceful retreat, complete with a spacious walk-in closet and a standout shower design. Rather than separate stalls, the Butterfields opted for one expansive walk-in shower with shower heads at each end. A river rock floor, natural-toned tile walls, and matte black fixtures, this spa-style setup blends comfort and luxury in one cohesive space.
Paired with dual vanities and handcrafted cabinetry, the master bathroom was built to provide both style and substance.

Thoughtful Touches in Every Room
Every room in the 2024 Custom Build was created with intention. From barn doors and wide-plank floors to soft accent walls and sunny bedrooms, the home balances charm with functionality. Each space is filled with natural light, calm colors, and durable finishes chosen for real-life living.

Finishing Touches – Where Function Meets Personality
The bedrooms throughout the home each reflect their own personality—from peaceful green and lavender tones to the bold pop of a pink feature wall in one of the kids’ rooms. These playful and personal touches make the house feel truly like home.
Storage was also a top priority: walk-in closets, deep cabinetry, and built-in shelving provide plenty of space to stay organized while maintaining the home’s clean aesthetic.

Practical Spaces That Work Hard
Behind the scenes, the 2024 Custom Build is just as functional as it is beautiful. The full pantry and combined laundry/mudroom were designed with everyday life in mind—featuring durable tile flooring, ample cabinetry, and plenty of natural light. Whether it’s prepping dinner or dropping muddy boots at the door, this home is built to make daily routines easier.

A View Worth Building For
Step outside and you're greeted by the kind of view that makes the build worthwhile. The deck railing with horizontal cable system preserves an open vista of rolling hills, forested ridges, and distant snow-capped peaks—a front-row seat to all four seasons in rural Stevens County.
